email to our API developers

“The Moby team is growing.

Three gifted developers are now working full time on delivering the best possible platform and API and three part time developers are working on our own native applications.
Over 500 third party developers are using our APIs to make their application social by adding the Moby sharing features or using the search and other display methods to enrich websites and applications with relevant real-time content from around the world.

Yesterday we were surprised and proud that ProgrammableWeb wrote about you and us.
They were right that a really big part of our success is the fact that you use our APIs.

moby api medium email to our API developers

You using our APIs is good for everybody:|
1. It makes it really easy to make your application social, you don’t have to implement all the different posting APIs, but just one. The amount of platforms your users then can post to is an ever growing amount, making your app even more relevant over time, without you having to modify it. Furthermore it will keep your UI clean. You only have to add 1 setting or do one credentials check instead of having to provide the users with all the possibilities of all these different social sites they can post to.

2. It gives our users a uniform and simple way to use your applications. It helps the users keep their content in one place.

3. It helps Moby to focus on our core competence and that is helping users share their adventures instantly with all their friends accross all their on- and offline social platforms.

On the ProgrammableWeb site, we saw that not that many developers have added their Mashup to their directory. We would advise you to do that ASAP. This is free and will help your (potential) users to find out about the possibilities of your tools. Just open an account there and add your mashup and the APIs you’ve used.

ProgrammableWeb gets you the latest on what’s new and interesting with mashups, Web 2.0 APIs, and the Web as Platform. It’s a directory, a news source, a reference guide, a community.
