Feature updates: Moby Mobile, comment Tweeting, favicons and more

The last two weeks a lot of improvements to the platform were made.

Moby Mobile
Most important one is bringing back the mobile site. We’re launching this today!
We tried to make the mobile site as basic and fast as possible. Right now it is optimized for the iPhone, and we’re really interested in your feedback!

Tweets
“A picture is worth more than 140 characters”, a wiseman said. We added some more Twitter integration. If you have setup your Twitter account on Moby we present you with a checkbox at the comments section. You can decide if you also want to post your comment to Twitter. We also added a retweet option in the right side of the posting view page.

Faviconz
Using the favi.co.nz API we automatically add the favicon (that’s the nice icon in front of the url in your browser) of the links you add in your postings.

Third party integrations
This week also some new websites and apps added Mobypicture support:
- PowerTwitter is showing the Mobypicture inline
- Twitstat and Slandr now use our API to show you posted Mobies
- Pixelpipe has integrated Moby posting support (Android and iPhone clients)
- Twittelator is showing Mobies in their iPhone client
- Twibble finished integration and will put a new version with Moby support online soon

Groups and events
We’re also bringing back the groups and events! We’re testing and tweaking this at the moment, but this will be online very soon. Already a nice photo competition for the city of Amsterdam (In Dutch, but the title of the competion translates “in love with Amsterdam”) is using the group and event feature to get photos easily online. We developed a little webupload script for this, which enables easy uploading to different platforms for them. If you’re interested in something similar, contact us!

Location!
We’re gradually introducing the location features in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
