This makes our site and native apps rich and full of features. For posting many of our users often still use their personal Moby email address or their preferred Twitter app, because that was always the fastest way to post. But those sharing methods are often lacking some of the core functionality that makes Moby stand out in a now pretty crowded market.

That’s why we’re officially launching our Instant Apps for iPhone and Android today.
These apps were designed to just post photos and videos to your selected services. That’s just it. Posting only.

For each posting you can decide to which services you want to share it.
This means you can also perfectly use it to share your adventures to multiple Twitter accounts or your Facebook Pages at once.

For each posting you can also decide to share your location or not.

Very soon we’re also launching our full Android app which has all the features you’d expect from Moby. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, please send us your feedback and if you like the app, feel free to leave a rating in the App and Play store. If you run into bugs, please let us know so we can fix it!

The platform by the popular dutch humorist is aggregating over 500.000 pageviews a month, reaching over 125k unique visitors.

Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten (www.boris.to)Boris uses the traffic he generates with his Mobypicture postings to highlight his Indiegogo campaign for Inbox Pro. You can add practically all widgets to your Tag The Love platform.

Axe Apollo campaign (moby.axeapollo.com)

We’ve already generated 600.000 views with this platform for Axe. Campaign is not finished yet. The dutch weird facts Twitter account is sharing facts about space using our technology and generating traffic for the Axe Space campaign.

The Partysquad (www.helemaalnaardeklote.nl)

The traffic is used to get people to watch the newest video of The Partysquad. (nearing 1.000.000 YouTube views. Next to every posting you find the video. You can also find remixes and iTunes links on the platform. Not so ‘klote’ ey?

Cinemates (www.cinemates.tv)

These guys make awesome CGI short video content. Keep an eye on them.

Drinking our own Kool-Aid. We’re using the traffic of our work related posting to communicate about our job vacancies.

New modules and features
There are a couple of new features we’re pretty excited about.

The backchannel, every platform just got one. It shows all the photo sharing services and tweets. (check it out)

Instant, this is a webbased sharing app. You can logon using your Twitter or Moby account and BAM you can post to all social sites and the Tag The Love platform you are visiting. Perfect for engaging your audience on the fly, no setup required, just shoot and share.

New widgets:
We added support for: Kickstarter, Indiegogo, iTunes, Soundcloud, Beatport, YouTube and Vimeo.

In total I’ve shared 2,080 Mobys in 2013, that’s an average of 5.7 a day. I have received 121 comments and the postings aggregated 993,307 views on the Mobypicture platform! That’s an average of 478 views per Moby.

I’ve have shared pictures from 54 places this year! And friends have mentioned me 149 times in their postings.

In December we launch the first TagTheLove platform, it is built on top of the distribution platform of Mobypicture and is inspired by the successful MobyNow technology.

The platform is owned by the user, shows the social media conversation around the user and helps him to tell the whole story. It allows the user to interact with friends and followers.

TagTheLove shows the user’s Photo, Video and Audio content, integrates with Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, it offers Spotify playlists, it show social aggregated news, the user agenda, it gives the user insights into influence of fans and followers. And it allows the user to communicate the things he finds important and enable him to use the exposure of the created content and conversation for other things he loves.

Basically it gets the scattered energy of people talking about your topic on their social sites back to one place. Your place.

We first launch the platform for selected, passionate people, who have stories to tell.  In the coming months the platform will be tweaked and then it will become available for everyone who wants to regain control of the social media conversation.

We’ve added the long awaited option to post your adventures to your Facebook Fanpage.
This is a pretty cool feature our celebrity and brand users we’re asking us for. It works pretty neat.

First you have to link your Facebook Page(s):
- go to services
- click the FB Pages icon
- click ‘Add Facebook Pages destination’

- allow Mobypicture for the required permissions

- use the check box(es) to select to which page(s) you want Moby to publish your adventures and click save!

- you’re set to go! Shoot n share.

You can choose between sharing a link to the posting on Mobypicture/MobyNow or to upload the media itself to your FB page.

Instagram to FB pages
If you’ve setup MobyGram, you can now of course also use Instagram to post your photos to your Facebook Page. Just follow the MobyGram instruction to set it up!

Mobypicture was the first service in the world enabling users to share their adventures (photo, video and audio) to Twitter. We launched the service in august of 2007, eight months before Twitpic started and four years before Twitter launched it’s own photo service. Twitter co-founder @biz was really happy with the Eco-system. Check interview from 2007 with @biz here.

Two days ago (Sept 18) Twitter rolled out their new iPad app. In this app users aren’t able to choose their preferred sharing service. In the update Twitter doesn’t notify users of this change, users just have to find this out for themselves.

The consequence is that users are disappointed that their favorite sharing service is not an option in these official Twitter apps anymore, causing shattered personal content on different platforms.

Dedicated Twitter users have over five years of photos and videos with a lot of extra context (groups, geo location, friends and followers). This context is not supported in the Twitter sharing service. Mobypicture shares content to over 30 different social sites, so has a broader function as well, making it the easiest tool for sharing your adventures to all your social destinations.

The other issue is copyrights and advertising. Mobypicture has a no advertising policy and is also pretty clear about content ownership. This is an important reason why users prefer Mobypicture over the other services.

Because Twitter disabled posting to third-party sharing services doesn’t mean you cannot use them. You simply cannot use it from within the ‘official’ Twitter iPhone and iPad apps anymore. But there are many alternatives.

p.s. I used the Twitter sharing service for the Rickroll as a rare exception, to attract your attention and to emphasize that Mobypicture postings are for some reason not shown in the recent images bar… This is also a strange decision.

We believe in an open internet and love open APIs. That’s why we’re supporting App.net.
We integrated the App.net service

This means that when you post your adventures, using the native Mobypicture apps or any of the over 1500 Moby powered applications (Tweetbot, Twittelator, Twitteriffic, Tweetdeck, Twitter for iPhone, Plume for Android, Gravity for Symbian, etc. etc.), your photo, video and audio postings can also be shared in your App.net account!

Why in Labs and not just in destinations
We’re totally renewing our destinations flow so for now we added it in our Labs environment.

How can you use it?

1. Go to moby.to/labs and just follow the steps

2. Share your photo, video or audio adventures using Mobypicture (check Zendesk on how to set it up for your favorite apps)

Developers!
App.net is in a very early stage and right now mostly developers are using it or are developing apps for it.

The implementation is of course also instantly available for developers who want to include sharing rich content to app.net in their client services and apps.

Together with @bryan from App.Net we developed the OAuth Echo implementation. This means there is a key delegation solution, very useful for developers who want to third party services in a secure and user friendly way. Copy this address and open Instagram.

Step 2:

Take a picture and choose your filter.

now configure the email sharing option, paste the Moby Email address there (you only have to do this once, for the next upload you can just select it!).

After adding your effect to your picture, use the email option to select your Moby email address and post your picture to ALL the social sites (WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Google + (yes, we’re the only service out there posting to G+ and many more!!!) you’ve set up on Mobypicture.
