Yesterday Facebook announced a lot of new new features on it’s annual F8 conference. They have completely rewritten their main API, which we will implement soon btw, and introduced Social Plugins.
Social plugins enable you to provide engaging social experiences to your users with just a line of HTML. Because they are hosted by Facebook, the plugins are personalized for all users who are logged into Facebook — even if the users haven’t yet signed up for your site.
The Like button will probably be the most used Social Plugin and enables everyone to Like content on any website without having to login first. We previously added the universal retweet button from Tweetmeme.com to make it as easy as possible for our users to retweet content on Mobypicture. Today we announce integration with the Like Social Plugin.

Below any Moby, it’s now easy to Like and to see which of a users Facebook friends already Liked a Moby. The Like is pushed to a users stream, to notify their friends of interesting content on Moby.
In the coming weeks we will look into other Social Plugins and the new Graph API to further integrate Facebook besides Twitter on Mobypicture.
Shoot and Like!

Good news, will this be added also in the “my stream” page, next to the already existing Tweetmeme button?
So when will we be able to login using the Facebook engine?
@maarten in the new release of Moby, on which we are working 24/7 on…
@flavio we just tried it… doesn’t look that good design wise… next version we’ll integrate it in our own likes implementation and we’ll have full control over the design then…
